Wanting to create an Indian Single Malt that would enthral even the truest whisky connoisseur, Mr Paul P John endeavoured to break into the higher echelons of the Single Malt world. Guided by his singular passion and the extraordinary skill of Michael D'Souza, his Master Distiller, he set forth on a journey that lead to the creation of 'The Great Indian Single Malt'.

Craft, skilfully chosen indigenous ingredients and the warm environs of Goa create the magic that is Paul John Single Malt Whisky. Goa was specially chosen as the home of our single malts, not just for its unique micro-climate but also because the destination holds a special place in Mr. Paul's heart.

Having always enjoyed the beaches, food and the warmth of its people, Goa was but the perfect choice to set up the malt plant. From the verdant foothills of the Himalayas comes our six-row barley. Harvested in summers to ensure perfect maturity, the barley claims responsibility for several of the whisky's intrinsic characteristics.

Water is another major ingredient in the making of single malts and we utilize the pure underground table of water along with rain-fed water sources. Copper pot-stills made in India, were specially designed with long necks to create fruitier spirits that are then matured in carefully selected American white oak barrels.

During maturation the oak imparts diverse natural colours from sparkling copper, rich amber to dark mahogany as well as distinct flavours such as spices, marmalade, chocolate, coconut, dry fruit, vanilla and honey to the whisky that continues to evolve. The ideal warm weather of coastal Goa helps our whiskies mature faster, unlike those produced in colder climes.

Non-chill filtration helps retain the original colour and taste of our single malts. A conscious decision was taken to create high quality single malts at affordable prices allowing us to introduce many more to the flavourful taste of single malts. The brand has an entry level expression, a flagship family of five expressions, a range of select casks and occasionally releases award-winning limited editions as well.
